Update Notes 19-12-12 What's New:
City Game:

Problems with health, crime and fire have more of an impact on your people's happiness. So the game is a little harder. Not too hard, but harder than the last Alpha Trial.
Many late-game buildings are much more expensive to place. Now there is something to save up for!
Many parts of the city's UI have been updated to show more concise and clear information. This goes from the budget panel to the little gauge that shows how much power you need. Let us know what you find confusing, and we will improve it.
A new palette has been added called, "City Specialization". It has all of the palettes that used to be in Big Business.
The City Specialization panel has been removed. The "Guide Me" buttons were moved into the main palette.
Stadiums are now a valid stop for buses. This will allow better flow of tourists into your stadiums.
Fixed issues where Sims were not using Buses, Trains, and Ferries to commute between cities.
Workers will now be dropped off from buses and walk to train stations and ferry docks to go to work.

Multi-CityPlay:

Various tuning updates to Titan Gorge (Little Gorge)
Additional railway connections in multiple cities.
Added more resources across the region.
Smoothed the terrain in many cities for a easier play experience.
Update to Twin Cities allowing easier highway access in Point Hollis.
Service Trading is in and operational. This includes Data Layers for Fire, Police, Garbage, and Health.
All 4 Great Works are in and operational. They have their own button on the region palette. Go build one!
Resource Gifting is in and operational. This includes Data Layers.
Region Data Layers are working for the Transportation Menu.
Regional Advisors: We now have regional advisors in the region view for "most" systems. Check out Power, Water, and Sewage.

Front End:

Added a movie to the frontend
Updates to launcher for polish, layout, and some performance fixes
Updated, tuned, and polished Achievements
New three city region "Cape Trinity"

Graphics

Performance improvements
Improve terrain flattening/overlapping roads
Fixed seams in terrain
Improve impostor cities to show lights, bridges & tunnels
Improve the way pollution is visualized
Trees change colors with seasons

Tools

Road select UI is back to being connected to a tool instead of being on by default
Picking/highlighting refactor is more responsive and fixes several bugs
Double-left-click opens editor, double-right-click centers camera
Screen capture and video tools improved
More fixes to zoning overlapping each other and overlapping the roads
Shift + Straight road: Force roads to 90° and 45° angles. If the road isn't attached to another road then it will align with the borders of the city.
Arc road: This tool can now make a perfect circle. Still a few kinks to work out, but the basic functionality is in place.
Shift + Arc road: Draw only 90° of an arc. Great for smoothing out corners.
Shift + Rectangle road: Draws a perfect square. Like the Straight road tool, if the square is not connected to any other roads then it will align to the borders.

Roads

Fix bad intersections on road upgrade
Train intersections look and function correctly
Various road draw usability improvements - guide behavior and hooking up modifier keys for each type (SHIFT)
Long roads will now follow terrain more closely, rather than form bridges/tunnels

Tutorial

Better set up of the tutorial in the Front End.
Rewrote many of the tutorial dialogs to better explain the core mechanics of the game.
Added multi-city steps to the tutorial.
Added a new "First City" mini tutorial.

Known Issues:
Front End:

Sand Box mode is available from the Front End, however cheats are currently disabled. Recommend not creating regions in this mode.

Game Performance

First time loading into a new region could take longer than normal
Building may sometimes build on top of each other, to try to resolve this, pause the game and use the bulldozer tool to destroy the buildings
Traffic jams occasionally occur due to a routing issue, exit the city and reload to clear the road
Sometimes roads will draw underground when starting your first city. Exit to main menu and reload the city to fix the problem.

Multi-City

When meeting the Great Works requirements there is a bug that causes it to remain marked unapproved if you don't have the required money
Claiming a great work marks all great works spots as claimed
Seeing a population drop when your buildings upgrade is normal, your population will update after construction
Gifting resources or money with boxes not connected by a road will result in the money being stuck in limbo, don't do this

Tutorial

Multiplayer Mini Tutorials are missing
